Class Descriptions

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a class that is suitable for all and provides all of the benefits of yoga without lots of physical exertion. This means that students are able to relax in body and mind and relieve stress and tension. The class will enable you to move in a pain free way through careful placement of the body and unlearning and relearning ways in which to move.

Pain in the body can be caused by many different factors and often it is caused by tension, which in turn can be caused by stress. Mary will help you to work with your body and breath to activate the part of the nervous system which brings you to a state of calm, so that over time the muscles and connective tissues in your body can relax and alleviate pain.

It is suitable for all levels – those with an existing practice who are curious about what happens when we move more consciously, and those completely new to any movement practice including yoga, as this class will allow you to reacquaint yourself with your body and it’s movements. It is particularly suitable for those with injury (chronic or acute) and those with mobility issues.

Gentle Yoga is taught by Lolli 10:00am Wednesdays.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga describes how the ancient practice of yoga can be applied through physical postures (asana) and movement. Therefore this class is a great one for getting yourself moving!

This is an ideal transition class for those who have perhaps taken part in our beginner’s yoga course or would like to progress their practice.

This class is suitable for all including beginners.

Hatha Yoga is taught by Charlotte – Wednesdays 6pm & 7:30pm

Hatha Flow Yoga

This class provides a little time and space to feel into particular yoga postures with each class being moulded around a particular theme. The class usually incorporates a chain of postures (kramas) leading up to a peak posture.

The theme often compliments season changes or particular events happening at any given time of year in order to demonstrate how the yoga practices can be used outside of the studio.

It is helpful in this class to have either yoga experience or experience with physical movement as there is not a great deal of breaking things down as you would see in a beginner’s class. That being said it is suitable for beginners who are willing to give it a go with an open mind.

Hatha Flow Yoga is taught by Magali – Tuesdays 7:00am & Fridays 9:30am

Integral Hatha Yoga

Release the Peace!

Through postures (asana) breathing practices(pranayama) sound vibration (mantra or musical instruments) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) be guided to a place of stillness as you move and stretch the body, calm the mind, relax, restore and rejuvenate. The class can be as challenging or as restful as you need on the day as you learn to listen to and honour your intuition in the moment.

This class is perfect for anyone and at all levels to experience the healing benefits of yoga, as you learn to develop a non-competitive, safe personal practice. Beginners can enjoy this class as well as experienced yogis as they continue to deepen their experience.

Integral Hatha Yoga is taught by Lolli 9:30am Thursdays and 9:00am and 10:30am Saturdays

Men’s Yoga

A class dedicated to men’s yoga offering yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation to compliment busy lifestyles.

These classes are designed to strengthen, build stamina and flexibility to support men. Yoga is often seen as a female practice yet this class is designed to dispel this myth as well as provide the powerful benefits of a yoga practice to men.

Classes are suitable for beginners to yoga or those with some experience. Everyone is welcome in this non-competitive environment.

Men’s Yoga is taught by Magali – Thursdays 7:00pm

Mindful Movement and Meditation

These classes will enable you to unwind, ease anxieties and rest your focus. Each week we will explore different meditation techniques and how they can offer some support to you in everyday life as well as learning flexibilty of the mind.

Yoga isn’t all about the way we move physically but also checking in and refining our mental habits and the landscape of our mind.

Join this class to learn different techniques and to relax deeply within each session. All levels and abilities welcome.

Mindful Movement and Meditation is taught by Lolli –  Alternate Sundays 10:30am

Mindful Flow Yoga

Mindful Flow is open to everyone. The class dedicates equal amounts of time to breathwork techniques and meditation as it does to movement. Set to music we will slowly flow through a natural progression of breathwork and meditation practices and explore connecting with your body through mindful movement. Incorporating traditional practices from yoga, mixed with elements of qi gong and tai chi, the emphasis is on guiding you to explore your own connection with your breath, mind and body.

Mindful Flow Yoga is taught by Charlotte – Mondays 6:00pm

Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra

Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra class begins with a focus on restorative yoga postures to encourage a release of deep-rooted muscular tension, stress and tightness. This practice includes long held postures using props to soothe the nervous system, heighten body awareness and encourage mindfulness.

Following the restorative yoga postures you will be guided through Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, which is a deeply relaxing and immensely powerful meditation technique.

This class will calm the mind, body and spirit and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra is taught by Lolli – Tuesday evenings at 6:15pm.

Stretch & Restore

Start the week with a gentle but revitalising yoga class. During this 90 min class, which is suitable for all levels, Theresa will begin by guiding you through some gentle and warming stretches to increase blood flow, with lots of focus on the breath. Then lead you into some beautiful restorative postures to ease tension in the body, release stagnation and deep help knots and tightness, by using supportive equipment such as bolsters, blocks, belts and blankets.

This class will help calm the mind and body whilst also lifting the spirit to leave you feeling realigned. Restorative yoga is the centering of your breath and body – aligning the physical and mental by practising very gentle movement and stillness for extended periods of time.

Also, Theresa’s love of using Mudras and poetry in her classes, will leave you soothed and refreshed ready for the week ahead.

Stretch & Restore is taught by Lolli – Mondays 10am
