Brand new courses starting 13 Feb
We are all about supporting the journey of motherhood here at Thaxted Yoga and we provide yoga for every stage!
As well as providing pregnancy yoga we continue to support the motherhood journey by offering Mum & Baby Yoga. This year we’ve put together a 6 week course with weekly classes dedicated to the postnatal period. With specialist training we focus on the aspects of y0ga can support a mother’s recovery and healing process whilst also providing care and the right kind of stimulation for the baby’s development too. This isn’t like most other baby classes as we focus on the mother, too!
We often get asked how these classes work so here is a little example:
We have the room set up so that each mum and baby has their own mat and space with appropriate props and also a baby area in front for times when the baby or mum wants a bit more space or freedom from one another. Each class will have a theme and different breathing/physical yoga and meditation practices. These are all done with babies right by their mother’s side. We heavily encourage that mums do whatever is needed to keep their baby happy so feeding/changing/comforting is all good! We practice postnatal yoga for mums supporting the healing process in a safe and gentle way whilst also rebuilding strength. We also practice baby yoga which is designed to support developmental stages and bring calm to the babies.
Due to the super speedy nature of development in little ones, we’ve chosen to provide two courses distinguished by age so that the content of each class works best for mums and babies attending.

6-8 weeks – 4 months 1-2pm
4 months – crawling 2:30-3:30pm
